To Authors

The form of the license agreement with the author(s) of the scientific journal of the Russian Academy of Sciences (available for download).

The form of the license agreement with the author(s), posted on the official resources of the Russian Academy of Sciences, is the only one approved by the Russian Academy of Sciences for use.

In accordance with the license agreement, the author grants the Russian Academy of Sciences an exclusive license to use a previously unpublished article in accordance with the procedure established by the legislation of the Russian Federation.

No fee is charged to authors.

Online submission of manuscripts is carried out through the editorial and publishing system of scientific journals of the Russian Academy of Sciences on the national platform of periodical scientific publications of the Russian Center for Scientific Research (Click to follow).

To use the system, the user must register and log in in accordance with the rules for using the platform.

Rules for Authors

The journal "Доклады Российской академии наук. Химия, науки о материалах / Doklady Chemistry" publishes original, previously unpublished reports and brief reviews in the field of chemistry, chemical technology or physical chemistry, which are authored by full members (academicians), corresponding members and foreign members of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

The Journal also publishes works of other authors submitted by full members and foreign members of the Russian Academy of Sciences in the relevant specialty. Such submission can be obtained by the author independently before sending the article to the editorial office or with the help of the Editorial Board of the Journal after its receipt. In the latter case, a paper that meets the requirements of the Journal may be recommended for publication by an academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences – a member of the Editorial Board, or submitted by another academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences – a specialist in the relevant field, to whom the Editorial Board will request to give an opinion on the article.

The purpose of Journal is primarily to publish reports on major scientific research that has a priority character. The proposed report, after stating the problem statement, should contain a brief statement summarizing the main result of the work, which, in the opinion of the authors, satisfies the specified condition and determines the feasibility of publication in the Journal.

By submitting a manuscript to the Journal, the author guarantees that the relevant material (in the original or in translation into other languages or from other languages) has not previously been published anywhere and is not under consideration for publication in other publishers.

The Journal does not publish works that are polemical, classified, or highly specialized; contain solutions to standard problems; descriptive and methodological articles (if the method is not fundamentally new); articles that present generalizations and assumptions that do not directly follow from the published original factual material; serial articles that set out individual stages of research that contain material that is explicitly divided into several consecutive publications; articles on ordinary research that are not of interest to the international scientific community.

Manuscripts submitted to the editorial office are reviewed by the Editorial Board members and then sent for external review.

Articles are published as they are received. The only reason for an extraordinary publication is the exceptional importance of the message or priority considerations.

Returning the manuscript to the author for revision does not mean that it is accepted for publication. After receiving the revised text, the manuscript is reviewed again by the Editorial Board. The revised text is submitted to the editor along with a response to all comments and a description of the changes made.

All texts must be checked for borrowing. Works that have not passed the credit check are not considered by the Editorial Board.

By the decision of the Editorial Board, a manuscript may be rejected without peer review if it does not meet the requirements of the Journal.

Manuscripts rejected by the Editorial Board are not reviewed again.

Works completed without following these rules will be returned without consideration.

  1. Works may be accompanied with a presentation by a full member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, obtained by the author independently. In case of its absence, the Editorial Board considers the possibility of applying for a presentation to an Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, a specialist in the relevant field, of their choice.
  2. Authors need to define the section in which the message should be placed (Chemistry, Chemical Technology, Physical Chemistry), and give an index according to the Universal Decimal Classification (UDC).
  3. At the end of the manuscript, the author should indicate the full name and address of the institution in accordance with the Charter of the organization where the research was performed, the surnames, first names and patronymics of all co-authors, the contact phone number and email address of each co-author.

  • messages about useful discussions and discussions, thanks to colleagues and reviewers (in special cases)
  • notifications about the provision of materials, scientific data, computer equipment, devices for temporary use
  • information about conducting research in shared use centers
  • assistance in technical preparation of the text
  • anything else that is evaluated as useful help, but is not sufficient to be considered a contribution to the authorship of the work

SOURCES OF FUNDING

Information about grants and any other financial support for research. Please do not use abbreviated names of institutes and sponsoring organizations in this section.

COMPLIANCE WITH ETHICAL STANDARDS

To formalize the necessary information related to compliance with ethical standards in an article, you must:

  • specify the sources of funding
  • specify information about conflicts of interest
  • provide information about compliance with animal welfare standards
  • specify information about studies that use people as objects

PUBLICATION ETHICS

Not allowed:

  1. Data fabrication and falsification

Data fabrication means that the researcher did not actually conduct research, but rather forged the data. Data falsification means that the researcher conducted an experiment, but then changed some of the data.

  1. Plagiarism

It is unfair to take the ideas and work of other scientists without identifying their authorship or giving them due credit. Copying at least one sentence from someone else's or even your own previously published manuscript, without proper citation, is considered plagiarism. Copying figures and tables without proper permission is also considered plagiarism.

  1. Multiple submission of a manuscript

It is unethical to submit the same manuscript to several journals at the same time. This leads to a waste of editors 'and reviewers' time and can damage the reputation of authors and journals, as later publications will have to be withdrawn.

  1. Redundant publications

This means publishing many very similar manuscripts based on the same experiments.

  1. Inappropriate attribution of authorship

All authors mentioned in the manuscript must make a significant scientific contribution to the research described in the manuscript and approve the content of the manuscript.
